Clinical Research Center Network
Our region has a long tradition of excellence in clinical research at multiple institutions.
The ITHS Clinical Research Centers Network (CRCN) will aim to integrate these previously
independent clinical research units into one network over the next several years. This
network will consist of existing and new sites with an aim to expand the access of investigators
to all clinical research resources. The development of the network is a work in progress, but
each of these sites is available for use.
What are the Clinical Research Centers?
- A physical location where you can see subjects for research purposes.
- Most sites can perform therapeutic and specimen collections studies.
- Most sites have the ability to collect and store samples for pick up by the investigator for future use.
- Any type of clinical study or study using human subjects is welcome from investigator initiated studies to multi-center studies to industry sponsored studies.
- Services are offered at reasonable rates and the centers provide staff trained in Good Clinical Practice.
How can I apply to utilize one of these centers?
Hopefully, in the future, there will be one place where you could apply to use any of these centers. For now, you will have to contact each center (see list on side bar) to ask for an application. Applications for the units at the University of Washington and Children's Hospital are available by clicking in the sidebar under these units.
What do I need to provide when I apply?
For University of Washington
- An IRB approved protocol
- A unit utilization application (found under the specific unit)
For Children's Hospital

Can I get help in creating my clinical protocol to use the network?
Absolutely, as an ITHS member you have access to a biostatistician as well as other expertise
to help you develop your clinical research idea into a reality. Please use our
