WWAMI States Translational Research Consortium (WWAMI-STRC)

The Institute of Translational Health Sciences seeks to establish collaborations and partnerships with scientists, health systems, industry, clinical practices, and communities throughout the Washington Wyoming Alaska Montana Idaho (WWAMI) region. Individuals throughout the WWAMI region are encouraged to join the ITHS.

The ITHS has provided start-up funding to explore the development of a WWAMI States Translational Research Consortium, which would develop a decentralized regional clinical and translational research program that leverages and builds on resources from:

  • Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE)
  • Clinical programs and settings throughout the WWAMI region
  • IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)
  • ITHS
  • WWAMI medical school training programs

The Consortium is led by a Steering Committee comprised of academic leaders throughout the WWAMI region.

The WWAMI States Translational Research Consortium may provide opportunities to:

  • Develop the capacity to conduct clinical/translational research at Universities and research institutions in the WWAMI region
  • Develop new training opportunities in clinical & translational research within local/regional programs
  • Build enduring theme-based collaborative research programs across states and institutions
