Funding Opportunities

ITHS Funding

The ITHS offers two types of Translational Partnership Awards, one for New Interdisciplinary Academic Partnerships (NIAP) and one for Academic Community Partnerships (ACP).  These awards provide up to $50,000 in total costs for 1 year.

The ITHS also offers Early-Stage Product Development (ESPD) Awards to help translate clinically relevant research discoveries toward development of commercial products that improve human health. These awards provide up to $100,000 in total costs for 1 year.

ITHS does not expect that these awards will support a complete project from initial concept to publication of results. The amount of funding and the term of the award are intended primarily to support pilot work that will generate initial data or results demonstrating the feasibility and merits of a larger project that could be continued subsequently under other mechanisms of support.  The links below provide details regarding NIAP, ACP and ESPD awards and the application process.

UW ARPA-H Committee

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a federal funding agency that supports the development of high-impact research to drive biomedical and health breakthroughs to deliver transformative, sustainable, and equitable health solutions for everyone. ARPA-H’s mission focuses on leveraging research advances for real world impact. ITHS is facilitating the UW ARPA-H Committee, a visioning committee to help research leaders develop strategy and direction related to the new agency.

Visit our UW ARPA-H Committee page to learn more about how we can support the development of your ARPA-H research proposal.

At the ITHS central hub for National Institutes of Health (NIH) Diversity Supplements, you will find information about diversity supplements and their eligibility requirements, as well as links to partners with grants eligible for diversity supplements.

We encourage program directors/primary investigators and potential diversity supplement candidates to explore this page and those of all three institutions to learn more about these valuable funding opportunities.
