If you are interested in or are already conducting research that focuses on any aspect of human health, you should become a member. There are many benefits, including:
- Access to pre-award consults, education and career development programs, research networks, and more!
- Eligibility to apply for ITHS Pilot Funding
- Priority usage of ITHS resources
- Ability to more easily find research partners
- Access to the ITHS "laboratory"; using resources that the ITHS develops to conduct your own independent research
- Helping define and create resources needed to help your research program
- Helping shape ITHS and translational and clinical research systems both locally and nationally
Membership requirements
There are two categories of membership; Member and Scholar. Both categories have full access to all membership benefits, but have different participation requirements.
- Members have a defined link to translational research projects or issues and are ready to participate fully in the ITHS missions. Members must agree to participate in the main functions of ITHS -- by mentoring, giving a talk about their area of expertise, participating in grant reviews, and/or helping establish new programs. On the membership application you may specify several areas in which you choose to contribute to ITHS.
- Scholars are individuals who need help defining their long term goals. They are new to the field-- junior faculty members or senior faculty who are new to translational health sciences--and would like guidance in developing their research interests. Scholars need to identify themselves as needing mentoring and career development training. Scholars are asked to attend special seminars and classes related to advancing their own translational research program.
Membership application
It is easy to become an ITHS member. Just complete the online membership application form.
