Computing and IT support for clinical and translational research

We can assist investigators with planning for information technology and computing support for current and on-going research, including:

  • Discussion of webhosting options for research projects
  • Assistance in language to support research information technology for grant applications
  • Logistical coordination between other Biomedical and Informatics core services and research data storage
  • Identification of resources and colleagues who may assist in the research information technology/computing at:
    • the UW Medical Center
    • Seattle Children’s
    • Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
    • Group Health Research Institute
    • Benaroya Research

How researchers use this resource or service

Researchers may ask for a personal consultation as to how to plan for research IT within their environments. For example, a researcher may seek advice on how to launch a website to describe a clinical trial, or to evaluate cost-effective mechanisms to host or purchase hosting for their research.

Fees

Consultations available:

  • pre-award consultation for grant preparation (10-20 hours)
  • extended consultation (>20 hours)
  • post-award consultation

If future BMI resource funding is included in your grant proposal, the pre-award consultation is free.
