UW Pathology Electron Microscopy Resource Center

Description

The Pathology Electron Microscopy Laboratory is a fee for service technical resource center serving researchers at the University of Washington and affiliates. The facility is fully equipped for the preparation and examination of biological material using most standard transmission and scanning electron microscopy techniques. The facility is staffed to provide technical assistance in the design and implementation of research protocols as proposed by the investigator.

Specialty equipment/services

The preparatory lab includes technical services and specialized preparatory equipment such as ultramicrotomes, critical point dryer, sputter coater, vacuum evaporator, vibratome, etc. Instruments available for ultrastructural examination include a high resolution transmission electron microscope (JEOL JEM 1200EXII) and a scanning electron microscopes (field emission JEOL JSM 6300F).
