Location:
UW Health Sciences k069

The Education Core is leading the development of several "mini-courses" in areas relevant to clinical and translational research.

These mini-courses will typically consist of 2-5 one hour lectures and serve as an introduction to basic principles in each area. Relevant areas include (but are not limited to) biostatistical concepts, clinical epidemiology and study design, ethical issues in research on human subjects, grantsmanship, randomized clinical trials, regulatory issues, and scientific writing. The plan is to offer these mini-courses in an intensive one-week "clinical and translational research boot camp" in September of each year. The lectures will be recorded and made available to those who cannot attend. The idea behind the boot camp is to provide an orientation to clinical and translational research for incoming and novice researchers in a relatively short but intensive period of time so that supervisors can plan for release time to encourage attendance.
