ResearchMatch (National Focus)

The ITHS is pleased to participate in ResearchMatch, a free, nationwide database of potential research volunteers sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. Feasibility access allows researchers and investigators to see how many volunteers meet your study criteria. No IRB approval is necessary to register for feasibility access.

ResearchMatch Feasibility Access Instructions

Feasibility Access lets you see how many volunteers meet your study criteria. No IRB approval is necessary to register for Feasibility Access.

  • Go to https://www.researchmatch.org/researchers
  • Click on the Register button and select the UW from the drop down list.
  • The Researcher Acknowledgement form gives the Terms of Usage. You must accept the terms to use RM.
  • Enter your contact information on the Registration Page and setup a user name and password.
  • Pick RM Access as Feasibility
  • You will see the Dashboard – Select Find Volunteers
  • Select Feasibility search type. Note that the results from this search are rounded to the nearest 10. Choose Finished, and Move to Next Section.
  • Choose Location Options: can search either by distance to UW or by state.
  • Choose from Demographic Options: Age, BMI, Ethnicity, Gender, Height, Multiple Birth Status, Race, Tobacco User, Weight.
  • Choose Conditions Options: Can choose healthy volunteers or filter by medical condition.
  • Choose Medication Options: Can filter volunteers by medications
  • Finish Your Search: You will see the approximate number of volunteers who meet your study criteria. If you want to test a different set of conditions, select View Current Query.
