University President Ana Mari Cauce “encourage[s] members of our community to share knowledge beyond the bounds of the academy, whether it be with policymakers looking for testimony on a given subject or with a public looking for insights.”
The UW Libraries, eScience Institute, and the College of the Environment have joined together to create a full day interdisciplinary workshop to provide faculty and students practical guidance on engaging the public and policy-makers via the press, social media, and other venues. The day’s events include a mix of panel discussions, lunch conversations, and hands-on workshops.
