Guest Speaker: Dr. David Kershenobich
Dr. Kershenobich graduated from the School of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1963. He received further training from the Royal Free Hospital , specializing in Hepatology. He currently serves as the General Director of the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition “Salvador Zubirán” (INCMNSZ). Dr. Kershenobich founded the seminar of biomedical research at UNAM where as Professor of Gastroenterology, tutors Master and PhD level students. He has authored approximately 500 publications of which 203 are original articles and 81 book chapters.
Dr. Kershenobich has served in many distinguished roles including Surgeon General of Mexico from 2011-2012; President of the Mexican Association of Internal Medicine; and the President of the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico.
In 2016 he was awarded the National Prize for Science for Mexico and has received several other awards and distinctions including Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in England.
