In addition, she is a Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at the George Washington University and is the ACD for Translational Research and Innovation within the George Washington Cancer Center. In these roles, Dr. Bollard leads clinical and research efforts to fight cancer and other inflammatory diseases by strengthening the immune system using adoptive cell therapy. Dr. Park\u2019s research is focused on translating laboratory discoveries to improve the survival of children with cancer. She previously led the development and implementation of first in human\/first in child cellular therapy at Seattle Children\u2019s Therapeutics and is now collaborating with Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy at St. Jude to expand efforts for novel cellular therapy. Ramsey, MD<\/strong>, is an Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. She is a pediatric pulmonologist and clinical scientist with over 40 years of experience in translational research and therapeutic development in the field of cystic fibrosis (CF). She was a lead investigator for development of key therapies in CF including inhaled tobramycin, dornase alpha, and ivacaftor. She has been acknowledged for her contributions to CF including the Paul D\u2019Sant Agnese Award (1998) , the Lifetime Achievement Award (2013) and the Talamo Award in 2022 from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Thoracic Society (2014), elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2015, and received the Warren Alpert Foundation Prize (2018). She developed and led the CFF Therapeutics Development Network (TDN) from 1998 to 2015; the largest clinical trials network focused on CF therapies in the world. Walters, MD<\/strong>, is the Jordan Family Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at UCSF Benioff Children\u2019s Hospital, Oakland and professor and Chief, Hematology division in the Department of Pediatrics at UCSF School of Medicine. He is Program Director of the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine alpha stem cell clinic at UCSF. Dr. Walters received his A.B. with honors in Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley and his MD from the University of California, San Diego. He completed pediatric residency training at the University of Washington and hematology\/oncology fellowship training at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. He was a junior faculty member in Seattle before matriculating to Oakland in 1999. He has been active in cooperative clinical transplantation trials and has led several NIH-supported investigations of hematopoietic cell transplantation for sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. He has authored or co-authored a number of publications with a focus on hematopoietic cell transplantation for hemoglobin disorders, and he has a research interest in extending transplantation to young adults with hemoglobin disorders and other novel cellular therapies for non-malignant hematological disorders. In these roles, he oversees all research, treatment, prevention and education programs in pediatric hematology, oncology and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation within these institutions. Dr. Wayne\u2019s primary research efforts are directed towards the development of new treatment approaches for leukemias and lymphomas with a focus on relapsed\/refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He develops and conducts collaborative laboratory, translational and clinical investigations, including bench-to-bedside development of targeted, immune-based and cellular therapies. He serves as the Medical Director of the Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia\/Lymphoma (TACL) Consortium, a multinational clinical trials group that conducts Phase I and II trials. Dr. Huang is also a key member in the development team for the scientific research data platform, LabKey, at Therapeutics. He oversees processing for standard of care stem cell transplantation as well as the development, manufacture, and testing of novel cellular therapies and is responsible for seeking partnerships and commercialization of promising cell and gene therapies. Trained as an Immunologist, Dr. Hanley has an extensive background and interest in cellular therapy and is passionate about improving regulations for cellular therapy, training the next generation of cell therapists, and facilitating the translation of new therapeutics. Over the past 15 years he has helped to translate more than 25 cell therapy protocols \u2013 ranging from mesenchymal stromal cells to cord blood virus-specific T cells and tumor-associated antigen specific T cells \u2013 into the clinic.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hanley serves on the board of directors and as the chair of the education committee of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and is an active cellular therapy and cord blood inspector. He co-founded and served as the inaugural co-chair of the Early Stage Professionals committee and currently serves as the co-chair of the Immuno-Gene Therapy committee of the International Society of Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT). He is the commissioning editor of the journal Cytotherapy and he serves on the editorial boards of the journals Cytotherapy, Frontiers in Immunology and Immunotherapy, and Molecular Therapy: Methods and Clinical Development. In 2017, along with Drs Catherine Bollard and Russell Cruz, he founded Mana Therapeutics, a biotech company aimed at educating immune cells and eliminating cancer. She works in multidisciplinary teams developing culturally specific effective cancer prevention interventions and engaging at risk populations in community-based participatory research. She has pivoted during the pandemic to include COVID misinformation and messaging to reduce disparities in Black and Latino communities using CBPR methods. Two signature programs include Stay Connected Los Angeles and Vaccinate LA., a project with Michele Kipke from the SC CTSI and CHLA.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Baezconde-Garbanati has been a key member of seven NIH funded research centers including a new Center for which she is the Associate Director with Dr Michael Goran at CHLA -the Southern California Center for Chronic Health Disparities in Latino Children &amp; Families. She has over 200 peer reviewed publications and disseminated her research in community and government outlets. Her innovative and award-winning research has helped to shape the way scientific information is communicated to diverse populations. Ramsey, MD<\/strong>, is an Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. She is a pediatric pulmonologist and clinical scientist with over 40 years of experience in translational research and therapeutic development in the field of cystic fibrosis (CF). She was a lead investigator for development of key therapies in CF including inhaled tobramycin, dornase alpha, and ivacaftor. She has been acknowledged for her contributions to CF including the Paul D\u2019Sant Agnese Award (1998) , the Lifetime Achievement Award (2013) and the Talamo Award in 2022 from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Thoracic Society (2014), elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2015, and received the Warren Alpert Foundation Prize (2018). She developed and led the CFF Therapeutics Development Network (TDN) from 1998 to 2015; the largest clinical trials network focused on CF therapies in the world. Prior to AstraZeneca, Diana led science policy initiatives and the development of large research and harmonization partnerships at Friends of Cancer Research and was in charge of strategic planning and scientific partnerships at AllStripes Research. Diana pursued her postdoctoral research work on the genetic determinants of risk to second cancers and cancer predisposition syndromes at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, Radiation Epidemiology Branch. She received her PhD in Cancer Genetics from the University of Toronto, a MSc in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Guelph, and a BSc in Human Biology at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Walters, MD<\/strong>, is the Jordan Family Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at UCSF Benioff Children\u2019s Hospital, Oakland and professor and Chief, Hematology Division in the Department of Pediatrics at UCSF School of Medicine. He is Program Director of the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine alpha stem cell clinic at UCSF. Dr. Walters received his A.B. with honors in Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley and his MD from the University of California, San Diego. He completed pediatric residency training at the University of Washington and hematology\/oncology fellowship training at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. He was a junior faculty member in Seattle before matriculating to Oakland in 1999. He has been active in cooperative clinical transplantation trials and has led several NIH-supported investigations of hematopoietic cell transplantation for sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. He has authored or co-authored a number of publications with a focus on hematopoietic cell transplantation for hemoglobin disorders, and he has a research interest in extending transplantation to young adults with hemoglobin disorders and other novel cellular therapies for non-malignant hematological disorders. She is a pediatric pulmonologist and clinical scientist with over 40 years of experience in translational research and therapeutic development in the field of cystic fibrosis (CF). She was a lead investigator for development of key therapies in CF including inhaled tobramycin, dornase alpha, and ivacaftor. She has been acknowledged for her contributions to CF including the Paul D\u2019Sant Agnese Award (1998) , the Lifetime Achievement Award (2013) and the Talamo Award in 2022 from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Thoracic Society (2014), elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2015, and received the Warren Alpert Foundation Prize (2018). She developed and led the CFF Therapeutics Development Network (TDN) from 1998 to 2015; the largest clinical trials network focused on CF therapies in the world.
