Nora Disis, MD

A Message from Dr. Nora Disis, Principal Investigator

Welcome to the latest issue of the ITHS Research Connector, which highlights some of the many ITHS resources and tools available to you. This issue shares examples of researchers who are successfully using our Clinical Research Center (CRC) and Nutrition Kitchen facilities, as well as our bioethics consultation, Research Coordinator Core, Regional Clinical Research Collaboration Network, and biomedical informatics services.

You will meet Dr. John Amory, who is using the ITHS CRC to test new oral treatment options for men with testosterone deficiencies. We also check in with Drs. Benjamin Wilfond and David Magnus, who are leading an exciting new study that is assessing public acceptability of research policies.

You will read about the research of Dr. Ellen Schur, who is evaluating brain responses to food cues with the support of our Nutrition Kitchen and CRC. Finally, our Researcher Spotlight will introduce you to Dr. Yoshio Hall and his work to help public health systems better target interventions for disadvantaged populations with chronic kidney disease.

Our Research Navigator can work directly with you to link you to the best resources to meet your specific research needs. Please contact the Navigator via email at ithsnav@uw.edu.

Thank you for your interest in ITHS. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
