25 Mar Patient Activation Program for Depression
The Patient Activation study offers a telephone- or videoconference-based coaching program that is designed for adults aged 50+ with symptoms of mild-to-moderate depression. Patient Activation is delivered by a trained coach who works with you to create personalized goals and action plans designed to improve your mood and well-being.
In order to see if you qualify for this study, you will be asked to complete a phone interview with one of our researchers. This will last about one hour and will involve questions about your mood and related symptoms. If you qualify for this study, participants typically receive 6 weekly 30-minute Patient Activation sessions with a trained coach. Following six weeks of the program, participants complete a final phone interview (also about one hour long) to review symptoms of depression and similar feelings. Eligible participants receive the Patient Activation program at no cost and may receive $25 for completion of the post-program interview.
