24 Jun Visual Perception in Children between ages 5-12
We are looking for kids between ages 5-12 years old with normal vision to be in a vision development study!
This study uses EEG to record the activity in your brain. EEG is a safe, non-invasive way to study the brain. The EEG cap is like a snug hat or swimming cap, and it contains small electrodes that record electrical activity generated by the brain in response to images we show you on the screen.
** This study must be done in person at the UW Seattle Main Campus **
In this study, participants will be doing some visual perception tasks while wearing an EEG cap. We’ll also do a few assessments so that we can learn more about your
kid’s eyesight.
You and your child to visit our lab for a single session, expected to last approximately 2 hours. We may also invite your child to conduct a follow-up study in the future. As a thank you for being in the study, your child will receive $15 per hour. As the parent/guardian, you will receive $25 for the first hour and $10 for each additional hour. Additionally, we will cover any parking expenses incurred during your visit.
Participant Eligibility
– ages 5 – 12
– normal vision (contacts and glasses are okay!)
Before coming in, we’ll do a screening call to learn more about your eyesight and
the history of your vision problem to confirm you meet the full eligibility criteria.
