The University of Washington Institute for Language and Brain Sciences is recruiting hard of hearing infants between 2 and 12 months of age who have a mild-to-moderate hearing loss. This study looks at the effects of hearing loss on early brain development and learning. The goal of this work is to gain a better understanding of how hearing loss changes the way the brain processes sound as well as how children listen and learn differently. Ultimately, we hope that this will help optimize language and learning outcomes in hard of hearing children.<\/p>\n

Participant Eligibility<\/h3>\n

Infants between 2 and 12 months of age who have:
\n1) a diagnosis of mild-to-moderate hearing loss
\n2) born full term
\n3) no other health or developmental concerns<\/p>\n
