Identify patients and families with novel rare\/atypical forms of diabetes and characterize the underlying molecular mechanisms
\nOutreach and inclusivity of minority and underrepresented populations
\nPerform genetic and phenotypic characterization of participants
\nConstruct an access-controlled biorepository and database
\nMake data and biosamples available to the scientific community to advance research in this area
\nRADIANT will investigate atypical diabetes cases:
\nwhole genome sequencing (+ other \u201comics\u201d: RNA-sequencing, metabolomics)
\ndeep phenotyping of individuals and\/or families<\/p>\n

Focus on:
\nNew genetic variants underlying rare phenotypes within known categories
\nEntirely new phenotypes and genetic variants outside known categories<\/p>\n

ALL INTERSTED PARTIES START BY SUBMITTING THEIR INFORMATION ONLINE.

\nLab kits will be sent to their homes, if they qualify, no in person visits until stage 3.<\/p>\n

Participant Eligibility<\/h3>\n

High likelihood of rare & atypical DM:
\nT2D dx prepubertal or non-obese
\nMendelian pattern w\/early onset (<18 yo)
\nSyndromic
\nNon-progressive or rapidly progressive
\nLow insulin requirements (<0.5 u\/kg\/day)
\nCyclical, periods of remission
\nLean PCOS or GDM
\n“A-B-\u201d or \u201cA-B+\u201d subtypes of Ketosis-Prone Diabetes (unprovoked DKA at dx)<\/p>\n
