The purpose of this study is to determine if the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, pain medications, and other substances is associated with elevated blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)).<\/p>\n

We are looking for healthy controls to compare their information to people with elevated blood pressure in the lungs.<\/p>\n

The Study consists of a one time visit, lasting approximately 1 hour. During that visit, researchers will collect urine and less than 4 tablespoons of blood for research purposes. Participants will be asked to fill out a computer-based questionnaire about current and past tobacco, alcohol, and drug use.<\/p>\n

Participants will receive a $50 virtual gift card after completing the study visit.<\/p>\n

Participant Eligibility<\/h3>\n

Inclusion Criteria
\n\u2022 Able to provide Informed consent
\n\u2022 Able to understand and speak English<\/p>\n

Exclusion Criteria
\n\u2022 History of heart disease, including any cardiac procedure (catheterization etc.).
\n\u2022 History of lung disease, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or interstitial lung disease
\n\u2022 History of sleep apnea, for which nocturnal ventilation has been recommended
\n\u2022 Medical comorbidities which can be associated with PAH, including connective tissue disease, congenital heart disease, cirrhosis\/portal hypertension and HIV infection.
\n\u2022 Age < 18<\/p>\n
