Looking for healthy men, between 18 and 65 years old. $100 for completing all study activities. We have fulfilled our aim to include 50% women in this study, limiting to men (or trans) at this point. Info and initial questionnaire (to see if eligible) at GutPuzzle.info.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this study is to learn if a person&#8217;s stool bacterial composition can help predict how the person metabolizes various foods.\u00a0 &#8216;Metabolize&#8217; refers to the vast network of chemical reactions that\u00a0change the food we eat into biomass (i.e., the physical &#8216;stuff&#8217; of our bodies, like flesh and bone) and energy.\u00a0Some amount of our metabolism is governed by our own genes and enzymes, but a large fraction of the metabolism that happens in the gut is driven by the genes and enzymes of our gut bacteria. However, we still do not fully understand how bacterial and human metabolism work together to determine how we respond to specific foods.<\/p>\n<p>This is a collaboration between the Institute of Systems Biology (ISB) and Fred Hutch, funded by NIH grant R01DK133468<\/p>\n<h3>Participant Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Inclusion Criteria: Healthy, normal-to-obese (BMI 18-35 kg\/m2), men, ages 18-65 years.
