We will investigate this process using the medication cimetidine, an over-the-counter heartburn medication that is safe for use while breastfeeding and has few side effects.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will give consent during pregnancy, but all study activities will occur after delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in the study involves three separate study days, each lasting 12-13 hours. These days will be scheduled at 3-5 weeks, 3-4 months, and 6-8 months postpartum. On each study day, participants will take a single dose of cimetidine and provide samples of blood, urine, and breast milk.
