We expect the findings to inform scientific information about stress and coping in this population, and help tailor culturally responsive mental health services supporting the Black community. This study is funded through the National Institute on Drug Abuse, which is part of the federal government. To learn more about the study, visit https://sites.uw.edu/bars

If enrolled, you will visit the lab and participate in multiple virtual reality (VR) simulations and complete survey questionnaires. You also will complete two additional online surveys, and a virtual interview following your lab visit. The visit will take about one hour and each follow-up survey/interview will take about half hour.

Upon completion, you will receive up to a total of $100 in an electronic gift card. If you are interested, please complete a very brief screener (https://redcap.link/barstudy) to verify that you qualify for the study. Alternatively, you may contact us by calling (206) 543-7227 and one of our research team members will walk through the screener with you over the phone.

Screener survey: https://redcap.link/barstudy
Learn more: https://sites.uw.edu/bars

Participant Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate if you:
1.
