Electron Microscopy Made Easy EMtrix is a remotely accessible electron microscopy facility located within the Division of Biological Sciences at The University of Montana. Our facility supports diverse research and teaching activities that require the use of transmission or scanning electron microscopy (TEM, SEM). Principal equipment includes a Hitachi 7100 TEM and a Hitachi S-4700 cold field emission SEM. Both microscopes can be accessed remotely via the internet. Our fully equipped specimen preparatory laboratory includes ultramicrotomes, knifemakers, a sputter coater, a critical point dryer, vacuum evaporators, embedding ovens and light microscopes. The facility is staffed by a professional electron microscopy technician, available to assist in experimental design, sample preparation, and interpretation of data. Whether on campus or across the globe, we look forward to assisting with all your EM needs.
