The Sociobehavioral and Prevention Research Core (SPRC) supports interdisciplinary research among social, behavioral and clinical scientists and supports HIV prevention research. SPRC provides technical assistance to CFAR investigators, organizes forums for interdisciplinary research community development, and enhances collaborations between researchers (including addictions, substance use, and mental health research). SPRC also works on Community Outreach both locally and internationally. Locally, the Community Action Board (CAB) is pursuing community-based research priorities and translational research opportunities. SPRC also works closely with Public Health-Seattle & King County to stimulate collaborative research projects and evidence-based policy development. The SPRC works with the International Core to identify collaborative research and translational research opportunities, as well as with the University of Nairobi Center for HIV Prevention and Research (UNCHIVPR) on translational research for HIV prevention.
