The mission of the Center for Innovations in Sleep Self-Management (CISSM) is to advance nursing and interdisciplinary science through the development, testing, and implementation of self-management interventions that use technology to assist adults and children with chronic illnesses to sleep better and improve health. The CISSM provides research resources to assist new and early career stage investigators to develop expertise in designing, testing, and disseminating self-management interventions that integrate technology to improve sleep those with chronic illnesses.

  • Biobehavioral laboratories (assays, processing & storage of assays)
  • Sleep data repository (actigraphy & polysomnography scoring, fitbit analysis)
  • Heart rate variability repository
  • PROMIS instrument (common data elements) repository
  • Patient Centered Technology repository (smart home sensors)
  • Sleep Research Laboratory to conduct overnight sleep studies
  • Pain sensitivity testing
  • Consultation for integration of objective and subjective sleep and sleep-related daytime impairment
