Mission & Major Initiatives

Mission

Our mission is to share practices and experiences related to clinical research ethics consultation, to enhance understanding of the complex ethical dilemmas that emerge with advancing translational science, and to improve the quality of clinical research ethics consult advice.

Major Initiatives

  • Hold monthly virtual meetings in order to share practices and discuss topical literature and relevant issues.
  • Conduct case webinars where a research ethics consultation is presented retrospectively and discussed.
  • Participate in collaborative consults where members engage around in-progress consult discussions.
  • Publish two cases, each with three commentaries, every six months in the American Journal of Bioethics based on our case presentations and collaborative consults.
