Clinical Research Ethics Consultation Collaborative

Meetings & Discussions

Monthly Web Meetings

The Collaborative holds monthly meetings. These take place on the first Wednesday of odd numbered months from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Eastern time and the first Tuesday of even numbered months from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Meetings are used to:

  • Share practices.
  • Present member projects.
  • Explore future collaborations.
  • Discuss organizational issues.

One week prior to each meeting, a reminder email is sent including an agenda and call-in details. At least once per quarter, a member presents a clinical research ethics consultation case in a webinar for all members.

Member-Initiated Discussions

The group communicates in a variety of ways:

  • Ad hoc phone discussion with the Collaborative
A member doing a consultation at their home institution may invite the group via the listserv to discuss the case in order to help the member decide what his or her recommendations are to the requestor.
  • General discussion via email
A member may use the listserv for the purpose of asking questions, soliciting opinions, and starting conversations regarding any ethical issue that might arise during a consultation or in general.
