Study Team Representatives Participate in All-Day Design Session for Target 3

Design is in full swing for the CTMS Target Three Implementation of OnCore Study Financial Management.

The CTMS Implementation project team, representatives from the University of Washington Clinical Trials Office (CTO), Fred Hutch Clinical Research Support (CRS) and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Research Integration (RI), as well as study team members across Oncology & Non Oncology who are part of our “Design & Adoption Advisory Groups” (DAAGs) have continued to work diligently on workflow design for Target 3 functionality.

Design has been underway since September of 2019 and on Tuesday, January 28th, the CTMS Implementation Project Team hosted an all-day design session with the Pre and Post-Award Design & Adoption Advisory groups (DAAGs) to showcase progress to date and address study team questions. Topics covered included:

  • Study Calendars
  • Coverage Analysis
  • Study Budget Development
  • Research Chargemaster
  • Study Team and PI sign-offs
  • Post Award functions including subject visit tracking and sponsor invoicing

Two of the project’s Executive Sponsors, John Slattery (Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Education of UW School of Medicine) and Elizabeth Boyd (Vice President, Research Administration at Fred Hutch) stopped by to answer questions, express their gratitude for all of the hard work being done on project, and reemphasize the tremendous impact the CTMS will have on the joint efforts of our three institutions.

There will be one more all-day design session on February 13th, which will serve to review additional topics and design updates before the design phase is completed at the end of February.

The CTMS Program Office is incredibly grateful to the members of all working groups and especially our DAAG members for spending the day with us listening, collaborating, and lending expertise to improve our Target Three efforts.
