28 Oct BIBS2 – Brain Influences on Growth at Birth Study 2
The Brain Influences on growth at Birth Study is trying to learn how the baby brain and nutrition contributes to weight gain and growth early in life in babies of mothers who experienced gestational diabetes.
We are recruiting pregnant individuals or families with babies up to 1 month old.
All parent participants will have one screening phone call.
Parent and child participants will have two in-person visits at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, spread out over 6 months. Visits will typically last 45 minutes to 2.5 hours.
Baby participants will have one brain MRI and body measurements. Parents will complete study questionnaires. If at 6-months the baby is still being breastfed, we will ask for a small sample of breast milk.
There will be one remote visit at 3 months (one online questionnaire).
Participants may earn up to $200 for the completion of the entire 6-month study.
