Immune Response to Shingrix Vaccination

The University of Washington Virology Research Clinic is studying how the immune system reacts to the shingles vaccine. If you are 60 years of age or older and have not yet received the shingles vaccine, you may be eligible. The study will last up to one year and involve 9 clinic visits. Procedures will include large volume blood draws, skin biopsies, and vaccination with the FDA-approved Shingles vaccine.Participants will be compensated $1100 for the entire study.Please call us at (206) 520-4340 or visit our website (https://depts.washington.edu/herpes/) for more information.

Participant Eligibility

We are looking for participants who:
– Are 60 years of age or older
– Have a history of chickenpox or shingles
– Do not have HIV, Hepatitis B, or Hepatitis C infection
