Call for Expressions of Interest: NIH Administrative Supplements

NIH Administrative Supplements to Support KL2 Scholars in Selected Research Topics: Call for Expressions of Interest

Funding opportunities for early career clinical and translational investigators

The ITHS KL2 Career Development Program provides funding, mentoring, and training to prepare early career investigators in the Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho (WWAMI) region for independent research careers.

Early career faculty and postdoctoral investigators may be eligible to apply for unique career development funding linked to the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) grant awarded to ITHS by NIH. In addition to our standard cohort, three NIH programs seek to support dedicated KL2 scholar appointments in the following research areas:

• Conditions co-occurring with Down syndrome across the lifespan
• Dental, oral, and craniofacial projects
• Natural products or mind-body approaches (must hold doctoral, clinical complementary and integrative health degree)

KL2 scholars have protected time for research and receive funding for salary and some research support for up to 3 years.

We invite eligible individuals to submit an expression of interest to apply for one of these opportunities. ITHS will provide extensive proposal development support to candidates selected to submit full supplement applications to NIH in Fall 2022.

Expression of Interest Due Dates

• EOI for NIDCR supplement (Dental, oral, and craniofacial) due July 12, 2022
• EOI for NCCIH supplement (Complementary health) due July 28, 2022
• EOI for INCLUDE supplement (Down Syndrome) due August 26, 2022

This call relates specifically to supplemental awards available from NIH in the research areas noted above. Our general KL2 request for applications will open in a few months.
