The ITHS offers New Translational Science Tools and Methodologies awards for the development of new generalizable tools and methodologies for preclinical development and evaluation. This award aims to serve as a critical incubator for innovative projects that advance efficiency, quality and impact of preclinical development of therapies, treatments, and devices and tools for real time monitoring of clinical efficacy such as wearable devices. All projects must align with the field of translational science, incorporating expertise from various fields to expedite processes and methods that enhance the speed, quality, cost-effectiveness, and reach of clinical and translational research. We especially encourage applications for projects that implement microfluidics, organoids and tissue chips, integrated robotics, AI-based drug design and discovery, and analysis of biomarkers. The RFA provides details regarding eligibility, the application process, and review criteria. This opportunity is open to all eligible persons regardless of race, sex or other identity.
