Lisa Stromme Warren

Lisa Stromme Warren manages internal and external communications, special projects, and strategic storytelling for ITHS. She helps communicate ITHS’s unique role in translational science by working with a full range of ITHS audiences including research participants, investigators, and research teams.  Her role is to craft the messages that will build awareness for clinical and translational science support. She also provides strategic support for other projects including annual conferences, public exhibitions, and national CTSA communications efforts.

Stromme Warren is a strategic communicator who a comes from a long career in broadcast journalism, issues management, and executive communications. Most recently, she lead the communications effort for the Washington State Department of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent vaccine rollout. Before that, she spent fifteen years in broadcast journalism as an editorial leader, executive producer, and digital content director for newsrooms in California, Oregon, Ohio, and Washington.

Stromme Warren has been honored for her work in this field as both a journalist and a communications professional. In 2018, she won an Emmy for her work leading team coverage of a disastrous train derailment, and in 2020 she earned a letter of commendation from the Secretary of Health of the state of Washington, honoring her life-saving work during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. She was later honored by both the incident commander of the pandemic response, and Governor Jay Inslee, for her critical communications work in 2020 and 2021.
