Jason Carter, professor of health and human development, director of the Sleep Research Laboratory and vice president of the Montana State University Office of Research, Economic Development and Graduate Education, performs a procedure to find and collect data from the sympathetic nerve from a sleep research participant, Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at the Sleep Research Laboratory at MSU in Bozeman, Mont. The Sleep Research Laboratory focuses on neural control of circulation in humans. These studies aim to better understand the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease and orthostatic hypotension, with the goal of uncovering methods for reducing their incidence.
