Sexually Transmitted Infections Cooperative Research Center Developmental Research Project awards

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Sexually Transmitted Infections Cooperative Research Center is sponsoring a Developmental Research Project (DRP) awards program whose purpose is to encourage new investigators (or investigators new to STD) to pursue careers in STD research.

Overview

One of the major goals of the Sexually Transmitted Infections Cooperative Research Centers (STI CRC) is to recruit and retain talented new investigators from a variety of disciplines into the field of STD research. We are pleased to announce the Call for Applications for Spring 2018 DRP awards.

The DRP awards are intended to provide seed money for research projects to generate hypotheses and preliminary data necessary for preparation of a competitive NIH K-Award , R03, R21, or R01 application.

Funding

One application will be selected for funding in the Spring 2018 competition, to provide 1 year of funding; a second year of funding will be contingent upon progress and successful re-competition of the STI CRC. The amount of each award is up to $60,000 per year.
