26 May Embarking on Entrepreneurship: Meet the New TSEP Cohort
ITHS is pleased to announce the latest group of participants in the Translational Science Entrepreneurship Program (TSEP), now beginning its third year. This year’s cohort is composed of researchers across the WWAMI region – from the University of Washington, the Institute of Systems Biology and the University of Idaho. Their areas of expertise include global health and public policy, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, molecular biology, applied physics, and medicine.
The year-long leadership training program is designed to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and real-world application, accelerating the translation of scientific and technological innovations into practical clinical use.

Teddy Johnson, PE, MBA
Teddy Johnson, ITHS Director of Technology Development, says the program fills a gap for early entrepreneurs who can benefit from a step-by-step approach: “The age of ‘Big Tech’ often spotlights successful entrepreneurs yet offers few avenues for aspiring individuals to embark on their own entrepreneurial journey,” says Johnson. “TSEP aims to demystify the startup founding process and provide guidance for those eager to take the plunge.”
We wish them all luck as they take this opportunity to enter the exciting world of entrepreneurship!
