Hilaire J. Thompson, PhD, RN, ARNP

Hilaire J. Thompson, PhD, RN, ARNP, is a Professor of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics at the University of Washington. A registered nurse and nurse practitioner, Dr. Thompson’s research has focused on reducing disparities in outcome following serious injury, with an emphasis on older adults. She brings expertise in translational research methods, including both (Laboratory) bench and bedside approaches. In addition to her research experience, Dr. Thompson has a long history of mentoring early-stage investigators, having chaired more than 100 graduate committees to date. Dr. Thompson co-Directs the TL1 program which seeks to expand the cadre of multidisciplinary investigators who are versed in translational and team science methods through enhanced training during their graduate programs.

Dr. Thompson is a graduate of The University of Mary Washington (BS), Catholic University of America (BSN), the Medical College of Virginia (MS), and The University of Pennsylvania (PhD). While a KL2 scholar she earned a second master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Washington.
