The ITHS REDCap Tips and Tricks Series is here to support researchers get the most out of REDCap in their translational science work. This month’s installment focuses on New Users by providing quick tips to get started with the REDCap platform. Additionally, you can now access several ITHS REDCap courses on demand via the Translational Research Education Engine (TREE) Learning Management System (LMS).

A variety of REDCap training videos are available within REDCap. Sign in to ITHS REDCap to view training videos from the top menu bar (REDCap account is required). In addition, several REDCap training classes are now available on demand via the ITHS TREE LMS. These courses offer more in-depth coverage of important REDCap topics.

- How do I copy a previous project as a starting point for a new project?
The REDCap “Copy Project” feature allows users to duplicate an existing project, including events, forms, variables, and settings from an existing project into a new project. The “Copy the Project” button is located under the “Other Functionality” in the “Project Setup” section of the project to be copied. During the copy process, you will have the opportunity to edit the project title and define a new purpose for the project.
