Research Coordinators Skills Matrix
The tool will help managers track the development of research coordination personnel by key competencies over time, identify senior staff members to serve as mentors and trainers for specific competencies, identify competency gaps, and make project/study assignments.
To use: List the names and titles of all personnel in columns A and B, respectively. List key activity categories and tasks in rows 3 and 4, respectively. Use color and/or numerical codes to indicate competency levels for each person and indicate the date. Use the Task Complexity and Expected Competency by Research Coordinator Level to establish training goals for coordinators at each position level and enable skills documentation toward promotion.
