Visiting Scholar Vanessa Kennedy, MD, examines real-world treatment patterns among older adults diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) during the era of targeted therapies, with a particular focus on the use of allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Her project explores how emerging treatments have influenced clinical decision-making, transplantation rates, and overall care strategies in this patient population.

Vanessa Kennedy, MD, is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of myeloid malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Blood and Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapy, at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Kennedy’s research focuses on the use of clinical informatic sand population sciences to understand patterns of care and improve patient outcomes. She is also actively involved in interventional clinical trials. Her work has been supported by grant funding from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Chan-Zuckerberg Foundation.
