Overview

In this 32 minute mini-course, Dr. Wilfond guides you to understand the background for actively including bioethical considerations in your research design. He also provides you with tools in the form of the 8 ethical benchmarks and discusses them in the context of clinical application with examples.

Learning Objectives

  • List eight benchmarks for ethical research that can be used to consider ethical dilemmas
  • Understand that every study has a unique context that affects how to apply these benchmarks to the dilemmas
  • Describe the role of bioethics consultations to help research teams and IRB develop solutions to challenging dilemmas
