The Placebo Effect

The use of placebos in clinical trials is the gold standard when evaluating new treatments or therapies. The placebo effect is a phenomenon wherein people who receive placebos have a perceived or documented clinical response. This meeting will discuss the placebo effect and considerations for the type of research attendees are involved with.

The Research Coordinator Journal Club is a forum for Research Coordinators to review published articles and hear perspectives of others to enhance job skills and practice. A journal article will be distributed one week in advance of the meeting, along with suggested discussion questions. Journal Club meetings will be facilitated by Mike Donahue, a Research Coordinator in the ITHS Research Coordination Center.

RSVP Requested

If interested in attending, please RSVP to Mike Donahue at mgd@uw.edu. Please RSVP even if you have attended prior Journal Club meetings.
